Herbalism

Herbalism is the skillful study and application of medicinal plants and herbs, allowing practitioners to refine natural materials into small, consumable pills or other restorative items. Through careful harvesting and preparation, Herbalists extract the beneficial properties of various flora to aid in healing and survival.

The process begins with gathering the plants themselves—either harvested directly from the wild or otherwise acquired. For more information on gathering methods, refer to HELP HARVESTING.

Pills

Pills are created by combining plant matter with dried honey or resin, forming a compact, easily swallowed remedy. This process must take place within a designated Herbalism preparation room, equipped with tools such as a mortar and pestle. Once inside, the command:

PREPARE [amount] <pill type> may be used to begin crafting. Preparation consumes balance with each use, and continues until the specified amount is made or the process is halted with:

PREPARE STOP In addition to pills, some herbs may also be smoked for medicinal effect, requiring a pipe and tinderbox, both of which can be crafted or purchased from a skilled Woodcrafter.
