Death
Death in Aetolia is not a permanent thing. Though it does cause you to lose some of your hard-earned experience, it isn't something to overly panic about. There are multiple methods of returning to life.
For Non-Undead Characters
When you die, you will immediately lose a small percentage of your total experience and be transported to the Plane of Souls, realm of the Under King. There are multiple methods of returning to life, but the simplest way is to APPROACH MIRROR while in the halls of the Under King.
When you have left the halls of the Under King, you will find yourself at a location called Outside the Cave.
For Vampire Characters
When you die, you will immediately lose a small percentage of your total experience and be turned into an untouchable mist at the location you died in. To regenerate your body, move your mistform to a safe place and meld with the earth by using EARTHMELD. When your body is fully regenerated, you can RISE back up.
If, for some reason, you find yourself stuck while in mistform, you can DIFFUSE MIST to transport to a safe location.
For Undead Characters
When you die, you will immediately lose a small percentage of your total experience and float in a state between life and death. To allow your body to repair itself naturally, you must REFORM BODY while still in this state.
During this time you will experience a myriad of dreams until your undead body has completely reformed. When you have recovered, you will find yourself at a location called The Earthen Font.
The thing to keep in the forefront of your mind when you die is that as long as you know why you died, and as long as you learn something from the death, it was worthwhile. Experience in gaming terms is lost, but it can just be gained back. Knowledge on the other hand, is priceless, and knowledge of your skills and the game is the single most important element to success.
