Belakai, the Shaper is a special administrative role. Unlike most Gods, he does not claim an order, has no shrines, and makes no appearances or changes in the game's official lore.

Belakai's Role

Belakai was originally created as an unpaid associate producer of Aetolia, helping oversee code-related matters and bug fixes. In 2006 (07?), he voluntarily quit the game's development team to pursue real-world employment opportunities, and was succeeded by Tydeus in 2007.

In 2012, Belakai returned to the staff, and to this day, contributes bug fixes, skill updates and tweaks, and more. He also supervises the "Wikigroup", a team of players who have volunteered to devote more significant time to the official wiki.

In-game Appearances and Easter Eggs

Though, as mentioned above, Belakai is not considered a canonical god, he does claim minor character quirks and details, and references and homages to Him exist all around the continent of Sapience.

  • Floristry enthusiasts and fanatical slayers of wildlife alike can find Shaper's Glove, a semi-rare flower that grows in scrublands and other green areas.
  • There is a statue in the Ironmaw Prison Complex dedicated to Belakai. It is a massive depiction of a heavy-set God preparing to stomp on a dwarf, the deity's most hated race.
  • Following this post by the player Sayber on the official forums, Belakai granted Sayber a unique artifact known as the Shaper's Panties. These had no function, but were very large and somewhat disheartening.
