Guilds

The Guilds of Aetolia are powerful organizations with varying motives. You may only join one Guild and many demand a lifetime of allegiance. While it may be possible to break this oath, the cost is often high.

The benefits of joining a guild are mainly:

A) 3 additional skills, called "guild skills". Each of these skills has many abilities in it.

B) A community of like-minded individuals to belong to.

Guild Structure

A Guild has a formalized structure to it. There are twenty guild levels, differing in name from guild to guild. Furthermore, there can be but one level twenty player in a Guild. This player, known as the Guildmaster, gains prestige and some extra power. It is a mark of respect and all such worthy masters of their skills should be crossed only with great caution. Further, each Guildmaster may appoint secretaries, who have nearly all the powers of the Guildmaster himself.

Please Note:

Choosing a guild is a tough decision and not one that should be taken lightly. Frequent changing of guilds can not only burden your character with some tough roleplay scenarios and a reputation that will last, but some mechanical infliction as well:

- Leaving a guild while still a Novice will allow you to regain 100% of the lessons invested in that class, but you will also lose the class.

- Leaving a guild while Guild Rank 1, or 2 will allow you to regain 90% of the lessons invested in that class, but you will also lose the class.

- Leaving a guild while Guild rank 3 and above will allow you to retain the class. If desire to quit the class as well as leaving; however, you will only regain 50% of the lessons invested into the class.

Not sure how many lessons you have invested? Type LEARNED to display the total amount of lessons you have in each different skillset you possess.

It is possible to quit a guild, keep the class, and yet join another guild if you have a class slot open by means of the multiclassing system. For more information on that, see the page.
