                        [GUILD LEADERS]
                  Guildmaster: Aren
Divine Patron: Auresae, Goddess of Fire
                  Flamewright: Roux

As the mighty phoenix rises from death, so have the warriors of Light risen from the mire of apathy and corruption. It is the Luminaries who have been chosen by the Light to carry the enduring torch to reveal every shadowed corridor and brighten every darkened hall.

The guild of the Luminaries was formed shortly after the disbanding of the Priesthood and was inspired by the revelation gifted by Light to Sahmie Rhashye. Following the precepts of foresight, fortitude, and faith, the guild looks toward the future to guide their actions today.

Practicing the celestial skills of spirituality and devotion, the Luminary also wield the ancient magic that is a combination of fire and light. This extraordinary ability is called Illumination.

While members of the guild are powerful fighters, they are equally dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom and the imparting of wisdom to novices. The guild believes it is through the witness of their daily lives and the debate of their beliefs that the Luminary will win deciding victories over the dark. Also, the maintenance of their inspiration - the Great Spark - is an essential duty to all guild members.

Located in Enorian, the Luminaries are loyal citizens of the Beacon of Light and fierce protectors of her sovereign ground. Those seeking admittance into their ranks should first consult the scroll entitled HELP GUILDNOVICES LUMINARIES.

History of the Guild

97 MA, 19th of Slyphian Sahmie Rhasye, Guildmistress of the Priests, convenes the leaders of her guild to discuss a misdirection in guild energy. She is overcome by a deep slumber and transcends from the Prime Material Plane. Upon experiencing a revelation, she disbands her guild to purge the apathy and corruption that had settled within.
98 MA, 17th of Variach The Luminaries guild is founded.
98 MA Sahmie becomes the first Morning Star of the newly established Luminary Guild. The Guild begins the rocess of establishing an internal structure and clear principles and expectations.
98 MA Necia becomes the first tutor of the Luminaries. She is from Saluria and came with high recommendations from the Priestess Marhisa.
98 MA, 17th of Lanosian With the help of Lord Rahn and Necia, a faction of Sentaari lead by Clio Thetis that wished to follow the Light

gave up their knowledge of Kaido in exchange for their own Inner Spark and the skill of Illumination.

99 MA, 23rd of Severin Sahmie and Clio performed a ritual with their guildmates to draw a sliver of flame from the Great Spark with their hands. The sliver became the Crescent of the Daru guild and was placed temporarily in the Monastery storeroom.
104 MA Nalan outlines the 10 Theses on Light. (Luminaries #69 & 71-80)
110 MA Luminaries assist Azumi in rescuing his Angel from eternal torment after he had betrayed her by giving her as a bride to Golgotha. While Azumi shall forever be tainted by his action, the guild still moved to save the soul of the Angel.
110 MA Three archangels were summoned to aide the Luminaries in rescuing two guardian angels trapped by Emperor Golgotha. Armed with 3 candles, the guild raided the Chaos Plane through a rift and arrived at Golgothas infamous harem. Sahmie and Iereas broke the pentagram that bound the angels and returned them to the archangels for healing.
118 MA The Daru Crescent goes out. The Luminaries give half of the power of the Great Spark to the Daru, which leads to a number of restrictions on guild member actions.
118 MA, 19th of Severin The Luminary and Daru guilds donate equal amounts for the purchase of a clan, which they called The Council of

Light. The guilds are connected through the skill of Illumination and the clan was an effort to unite the guilds to the cause of Light. The clan has declared war in the past, and warriors of the Light bear the title Purifying Flame to designate themselves from other guildmates.

139 MA The Forces of Darkness attempt to destroy the Triad of Angels who were integral in the Revelation.
160 MA, Slyphian Ayalaine and several compatriots performed a ritual at the Flame of Yggdrasil to remove the corruption of Chakrasul. The ritual backfired when they took the corruption into their Inner Spark and overwhelmed a weakened Lord Rahn. His falcon, Gloria, showed the world the depiction of Lord Rahn's death. Users of Fire and Illumination

found that their abilities no longer responded.

161 MA The Angelic Triad called Luminaries and Daru to the Inner Sanctum to tell the story of Lord Rahn's history. Lord Rahn was composed of the fire elemental, Mebrene and Her vessel, the Hero Idar, who was a dying man chained to a burning rock. Mebrene could not sustain her relationship with the Hero after the ritual, and thus the Hero perished, causing the demise of Lord Rahn.
161 MA Fire returns, and seems to be searching for a new vessel. In an attempt to give one, Daskalos has Necia enter the Great Spark. Mebrene finds her wanting and Necia is killed in the process. The spirit of Consumption Mebrene is finally united with the ill child Oniala, who had been found by the Sentinels and guarded by their tutor, ixen, in Jaru. And thus Lady Auresae is born.
162 MA Lenci is called to be the new guild tutor. She is summoned using an ember from Lady Auresae and several candles.
162 MA(?) Lady Auresae scribes the Bestowing from the memories passed to Her through the Spirit of Consumption Mebrene.
163 MA Daskalos is outguilded by the current Morning Star when he attempts to contest for Guild Leadership, causing an uproar in the guild. In the end, the Morning Star Iereas was contested by Ayalaine, who took over leadership of the guild. Lady Auresae re-inducts Daskalos personally.
180 MA, 23rd of Chakros After the discovery of a vampire cure the guild is forced to take a position on the process that those seeking a

cure should take (Luminaries #193).

194 MA, 17th of Slyphian Joining events in the Bloodloch Arena is banned(Luminaries #204)
203 MA, 7th of Ios A policy is created that restricts conversations with undead family members to a family clan channel and requiring they are true relatives rather than part of a social clan (Luminaries #219).
213 MA The Great Spark goes missing for a short time, and the Guild is reminded of how important it is to our very functioning.
283 MA The abuse and exorcism of an Ember at the hands of Paladins takes place, threatening the bonds between guilds and with Enorian itself.
286 MA A vision from Lenci reveals that in times long previous there was a group called the Illuminati who practiced Illumination, and indeed this is where the skill first manifested. Going to the site of the original settlement the Luminaries were able to recover a ritual done by this group that is related to the Spark and full membership within the Guild

The Fall of the Priests

During the month of Slyphian, in the year 97, Sahmie Rhasye, guildmistress of the Priests, convened the leaders of the guild to discuss what she saw as a misdirection of the guild's energy. While meeting, she suddenly was overcome by a deep slumber, and her body transcended from the Prime Material Plane. Some hours passed, and she returned to her concerned friends, claiming to have had a profound revelation. This vision illuminated the transgressions of the guild against the realm of the Spirit, and it provided her with a clear picture of what must be done to patch the apathy and worldliness that have overcome them. Quickly she moved to disband her guild, to purge the mars that the revelation had detailed. Surprise and chagrin filled many of her former guildmembers.

As the month wore on, she was approached by many asking what would happen and what she would do. Near the end of the month, she began to hear voices, musical tones, and insects buzzing. She followed their noise to the source deep in Shallam, where she again gathered many of her former guildleaders. They too began to hear this musical noise, which manifested itself as tiny sparkling pinpoints of light. As each professed to hear the sounds and see the lights, the lights became stronger, becoming a full curtain. Sahmie reached out her hand and pulled aside the curtain, to see what was hidden from discovery, and the curtain fell away, revealing two great columns of light, framing the gateway into a new hall. As this hall was revealed, the knowledge of Illumination was granted to Sahmie, and with that knowledge, the guild of Luminaries was created.

Soon after the founding of this guild of light, a faction of the old Priests gathered together and declared that they would continue to hold to the ideals of the old guild. They formed an organization based upon those ideals, and based it within the city of Ashtan, long a harborer of enemies to the Priests. Still the masters of healing, it remains to be seen what they will make of this new opportunity.
