Mounting | Mount your steed
Syntax: | MOUNT <steed> | |
Details: | You must first be mounted on your steed in order to use almost all Horsemanship abilities.
Basic, but important! |
Riding | Properly direct your trusty steed
Syntax: | ||
Details: | This ability is passive.
Without this crucial ability, you aren't truly a rider at all. This ability signifies that you have learned to properly control your steed, and it will therefore no longer decide to go its own merry way and will follow your directions. |
Trotting | Trot quickly upon your mount
Syntax: | ||
Details: | This ability is passive.
Your control of your steed has reached a point where you can trot along at a leisurely pace as you move about the world. This will increase your celerity, allowing you to move greater distances at once before being considered hasty. |
Panicking | Cause your steed to flee randomly
Syntax: | PANIC MOUNT | |
Details: | You are now able to send your steed into a panic, causing it to flee in a random
direction from where you are. This is useful as the unpredictable nature of a panicking mount will make it difficult for others to block you from leaving. It will also obfuscate which direction you leave in. |
Sleeping | Sleep while mounted on your steed
Syntax: | ||
Details: | This ability is passive.
You now have the ability to remain mounted upon your steed when you fall asleep naturally, or perhaps decide to take a nap. Talk about sleeping with style! |
Fording | Ford across water while mounted
Syntax: | ||
Details: | This ability is passive.
When you come across a watery location, rather than swimming you can simply keep on moving and your trusty steed will ford its way through for you. You may still drown if you stay in one place too long, however. |
Recalling | Recall a lost mount to you
Syntax: | RECALL MOUNT RECALL <Mount ID>
Details: | This ability will allow you to call your unstabled mount back to you, or call your mount
from the stables, no matter where you are. If your mount is within a stable, make sure to recall it by its ID (e.g. RECALL 1234). |
Plowing | Plow through the depths of water
Syntax: | ||
Details: | This ability is passive.
Your steed no longer fears the great depths. This will allow you to ford straight into an underwater location without having to dismount. |
Returning | Have your steed return to the stables
Syntax: | RETURN MOUNT <stable>
Details: | Additional syntax: STABLES
While you have your mount with you, you may direct it to return to a particular stable, and let it trot off safe in the knowledge that it will be well cared-for. Typing STABLES will show you the stables across the land. |
Galloping | Gallop across the land with your mount
Syntax: | GALLOP <direction>
Details: | You may now gallop as fast as the wind upon your steed. Simply pick a direction and
gallop away, you will continue to gallop until you reach the end of the straight stretch. This will also allow you to follow other adventurers should they dash or gallop, as long as you remain mounted. |
Quickmounting | Instantly mount your steed
Syntax: | QUICKMOUNT or QMOUNT <steed>
Details: | Mount your steed so swiftly, you never lose your balance at all. |
Quickdismounting | Instantly dismount your steed
Syntax: | QUICKDISMOUNT or QDMOUNT
Details: | This will allow one to instantly dismount with no loss of balance. |
Naming | Set your steed apart from the others
Syntax: | NAME <mount> <name>
Details: | For the very reasonable fee of 1000 gold sovereigns, you may officially record your steed
with the name of your choice. It can then be referred to in many ways by this name. |
Leaping | Spur your mount to leap over obstacles
Syntax: | LEAP <direction>
Details: | Urge your steed to leap over obstacles such as walls, in the direction of your choice.
Whether in combat or showjumping, this is always an impressive ability. |
Lancer | Charge upon your foe with lance in hand
Syntax: | LANCE <target>
Details: | While mounted upon your steed and with a lance in hand, you can choose to charge an
opponent from line of sight, galloping to their location and piercing them viciously with your weapon in the ribs. The further away from your target you are, the more speed you'll gain, and the more damage you will do. You will need to be proficient with a lance to get the full benefits of this skill. |
