The Mystics were an ancient order of mortals occupying the now-destroyed Misty Isles. They pioneered the concept of seamlore, developed shapeshifting, and possessed the skills needed to tap and manipulate leyline energy without machinery or advanced facilities. Little is known about their culture or downfall, but presumably they were eventually destroyed during the Age of Despair or erased by the Grand Artifice.
