| Among the Chosen of the Light are a group of Zealot warriors known as
| |
| the Daru. Located in Enorian, they are loyal citizens of the Beacon and | |
| fierce protectors of her sovereign lands. Alongside the Luminary and
| |
| Paladin guilds, the Daru stand tall and fearlessly fight to keep the

| The Daru Monastery was founded in the Year 94 of the Midnight Age by a | |
| group of Sentaari monks, lead by Clio Thetis. They were dissatisfied
| |
| with the way in which the Sentaari guild had been run, and unhappy with
| |
| the direction it was headed. Following the teachings of Lord Rahn's
| |
| Perfection and the teachings of Lady Auresae's Purity, the Daru are
| |
| devout seekers of self-improvement. They balance their Mind, Body and
| |
| Will as they strive for perfection.
| |
| | |
| Having their roots in the Sentaari guild, the Daru have inherited the
| |
| martial art of Tekura, the ability to use the body itself as a living
| |
| weapon. The harsh regime necessary to master the art of Tekura teaches
| |
| patience, discipline, and eventually an increased self-understanding.
| |
| This important lesson of understanding oneself is one of the core
| |
| philosophies within the Daru, and one which every Daru must eventually
| |
| learn. By learning Tekura and attaining great strength of will, the
| |
| acolyte Daru is also able to wield mastery of Telepathy, another skill
| |
| gained from their monk heritage. Telepathy is the impinging of one's own
| |
| will upon another, to various and sometimes devastating effects. The
| |
| skill which distinguishes the Chosen of the Light from any others,
| |
| however, is the ability to use the power of Fire and Light:
| |
| Illumination.
