The Ankyrean Order was a race of superhumans that dominated much of the continent prior to the mortal epochs. They were the favoured children of the Sapience Divine and the first and fairest of all the mortal races, iron-fisted and domineering slavemasters of the other races for most of the ancient epochs. Their seat of power was in the Citadel of Spinesreach, and they warred extensively with the Dark Empire and the Dreikathi before collapsing into civil war immediately prior to the Grand Artifice.

The Ankyreans were quite patronising to those they considered less favoured by the Gods than themselves; such races were called rellyw, which translates roughly to pet in both the language of Kalsu and Ankyri.
