Niuran 498 MA

Copperhead appeared in Esterport and explained that he was looking for "the confluence". Soon after, bizarre instances of temporal fragmentation caused violent storms across Sapience, and a newly revealed chamber in the Ruins of Masilia is discovered to be the site of the aeonic confluence device. A battle between Spirit and Shadow ensued when a focus manifested itself in the area, and the confluence device began to draw upon the power of a nearby ylem geyser for unknown purposes. Bamathis and Severn commanded Their followers to seize control of the battlefield, while Damariel rallied troops from Duiran and Enorian. The battle ended without any victor, as the focus collapsed upon itself.

The violence and murder was not without result, however, as it had awoken Yvalamon, the Fury from a deep slumber, and the power of the confluence device drew Him and a legion of demonic forces to the ruins. The Unbound protected the device with a brilliant aegis while Yvalamon and Bamathis traded heavy blows, and They were soon joined by Haern, the Hunter who attempted to fatally wound the Fury with both His spear and a volley of arrows. Severn leapt into battle next, trying desperately to restrain the Fury long enough for His brothers to destroy Him once and for all.

When Yvalamon channeled all of His rage into transforming Himself into a colossal being, it would take the arrival of Tanixalthas to turn the battle against the Burning God. She finally forced Him into a retreat, and so the Divinities appeared once again before the aeonic confluence to confer with each other about how to proceed with its protection.

Slyphian 498 MA

Amidst the cover of darkness, a crew of Haekathi operatives unleashed a series of devastating attacks upon the harbor of Enorian, the site of the only naval power of any true worth found on the mainland of Sapience. Though Slyphe attempted to retaliate against the Albedi interlopers, Their attacks were unsuccessful at stopping the fleet from making a swift escape. Recognizing the importance of the harbor, Bamathis pledged His considerable resources to the rebuilding of the docks and tasked Nok, a loyal kobold tinkerer to assist Rhulin Glintspear with the repairs.

Haernos 498 MA

In the weeks following the Haekathi attack upon Enorian, the presence of Yvalamon at sites of conflict and war became a regular occurrence as He attempted to heal Himself following His battle with the Sapient Divinities.

Meanwhile, Copperhead had returned to the site of the aeonic confluence in the ruins of Masilia and stood watch over it. In mid-Haernos, he bellowed out a "level five, critical warning" across the land, alerting adventurers to an approaching force of Haekathi invaders who had moored their ship, the Midnight Serpent, off the coast of Scidve. For several days the mightiest warriors of Sapience - including Tanilthos, Lim, Nipsy, and Whirran - would fling themselves at the crew of the Midnight Serpent, led by their captain, Xaseira. While the crew was distracted by the battles taking place upon the deck of the ship, some adventurers snuck into the hold of the ship and uncovered missives and field orders that revealed the objectives of the Haekathi: to secure the aeonic confluence for their Autarch, and to cripple any of Sapience's potential naval resistance in the process.

Good news did come from the rebuilding project in Enorian, however. Spurred by the discovery of the Haekathi's plan to attack Sapience again by sea, Rhulin Glintspear encouraged adventurers to contribute to the construction of a massive warship, and the contributions of Xavin, Tinazin, Merek, Isia, and Jezreth were particularly significant. Soon the vessel, named Dawnbreaker, was completed and Ethne blessed it with the gift of a freshly-fashioned ship's wheel.

Ios 499 MA

Sapience braced itself for another attack upon Enorian as a new year dawned, and with the completion of the Dawnbreaker it became necessary to train many potential captains on how to maneuver and use its weaponry to defend the seas.

Bamathis convened a summit at Haern's Temple of Thorns, beseeching the Hunter for His continued assistance at defeating Yvalamon for good this time. Tense negotiations followed between the Divine and Their Orders, but it was finally agreed that Haern and Bamathis would fight as allies, so long as Severn remained out of the conflict.

In the ruins of Masilia, the aeonic confluence continued to stir under the watchful gaze of Copperhead. While discussing the likelihood of the Haekathi forces succeeding at seizing the device, Iesid Mulariad offhandedly mentioned the rumors that a non-functional remnant like the Cogger was buried somewhere beneath Spinesreach. This intrigued Copperhead and he departed for the Spines, making the fateful decision to leave his post in order to locate the remnant.

A two-pronged battle against the Haekathi broke out later in the month - the naval forces of the Dawnbreaker met with the Midnight Serpent in the seas off the coast of Enorian, while land forces in Masilia bravely defended the aeonic confluence. Emboldened by the assistance of Ethne and Slyphe, the crew of the Dawnbreaker managed to sink the Midnight Serpent, ending a months-long attempted siege by Xaseira and her crew.
